Ringwood Carnival’s British Pedal Car Grand Prix Float Entry: Dean & Dyball pulled out all the stops when it came to supplying a low loader articulated lorry for the Ringwood Carnival’s British Pedal Car Grand Prix Float entry for both the afternoon and evening processions on Saturday 19th July. Race Director Jim Stride organised the “Wacky Races” style float with assistance from his GP pit crew and the help from Kevin, Richie and Roy (the lorry driver) of Dean & Dyball in Ringwood. The studios of Wave 105 helped produce the GP sound track with humorous quotes from morning presenter Steve Power and afternoon presenter Andy Jackson. Pedal Cars filled the float with many pedal cars whizzing around behind the float with 4 times Race Director Cliff Polton from Team Royce flying the flag for the event. As part of the Ringwood Festival the GP raises money for charities which includes Wave 105’s “Cash for Kids” & “Tenovus Cancer Charity” for the 2010 event. Join the amazing community event on Sunday 11th July 2010 which sees 40 plus pedal-powered cars from all over the country take over the streets Ringwood town centre for a two hour sprint race in the style and razzmatazz of “Formula One Racing” at 2pm on Sunday 11th July 2010. This off-beat is something everyone should do at least once or at the very least come along as a spectator. With crowds in excess 10,000, the competitive tension, the thrills and spills, the enthusiastic commentary, the atmosphere of a Sunday afternoon, all go to make this a unique and most memorable experience. Both BBC Television and Satellite TV have filmed these “wacky races” with Radio and Media supporting the coverage of this biennially spectacle which now attract entrants from “the BBC”, “Wave 105.2FM” and “The Bournemouth Echo”, “Rory and Paddy's Great British Adventure on Chanel Five” and many more.
