If I was Doctor Who I'd beam into your email

This is one of a bunch of songs that I've written since finishing my debut studio album. Inspired by my geeky husband, and dedicated to everyone who's ever watched Doctor Who on their laptop whilst eating curry. Perfection! ;)

One bright sunny morning in a darkened room he sat
at an old school desk in his shorts and vest with a coffee on his lap.
He sifted through the emails on his choked up crappy mac
and thought of all those letters sent and how he'd got none back.

I would like to write you another letter
but it's not like I can write a word I've not already said.
I'll only try to write you another letter
if I can figure out some way to change the alphabet.

If only he could write some code that'd make her write him back
he'd program her a function that would do precisely that.
he googled it and found a forum full of good advice
they said she might reply if he just changes what he writes.

One late Friday evening as he ate his vindaloos
He sat before his laptop watching brand new Dr Who.
If he could get his hands on some technology like that
he'd beam into her email and he'd make her write him back.

I would like to write you another letter
but it's not like I can write a word I've not already said.
I'll only try to write you another letter
When I have finished writing you a brand new alphabet.
